Disinfect Surfaces
Various surfaces in the offices, such as door handles, doorknobs, desks and tables are key places where germs can hide. One person who has germs on their hands touches a handle, and then a short time later someone else comes along and touches the same handle. It is easy to see how easily germs can spread in this way. Thoroughly disinfect all surfaces, and remember to also clean spots like computer keyboards, printer buttons and more.
Minimize Clutter
When your office has lots of clutter and other messes, it is much more challenging to maintain cleanliness. Leftover food containers and wrappers are germ havens. Encourage employees to de-clutter their office areas frequently. An added bonus to decreasing clutter is a boost to productivity and a more inviting office appearance.
Encourage Good Handwashing Techniques.
Wet your hands with clean, running water, turn off the tap, and apply soap. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
Place signs in washrooms that promote and reinforce this message.
Keep Supplies Handy
And it is much easier for employees to follow proper handwashing steps when the needed hygiene supplies are readily available and accessible. The same goes for other cleaning activities. Thus, you should keep plenty of hand soap, cleaners, paper towels, hand sanitizer and more at the ready and fully stocked at all times.
Manage Staff Policies
Anyone who is sick, especially those with contagious illnesses, should not be in the office where they can spread germs to others. Have employees to stay home when sick so they can get rest and recover.
